The 29th annual Taste of Chicago opens at 11 a.m. Friday, and this latest iteration of Chicago's largest outdoor food and music festival will feature a new layout, fewer vendors, a renewed focus on health and a strong sense of value.
The Taste, which runs through July 5 in Grant Park, will operate pretty much the way it has for decades. Customers purchase strips of tickets (12 for $8, which includes the ever-popular $2 Amenities Fee) and exchange them for food and beverage items, which are priced from 2 to 12 tickets each.
